Choosing which direction to take after leaving school is a big decision
The landscape of education, training and employment opportunities that students need to navigate is more complex and more challenging than that faced by previous generations. The jobs our young people will have are likely not created yet! Therefore we must remember that a career is not a straight road, ladder or path, but a winding trip with roundabouts, speed bump, pot holes and unusual diversions.
We’re here to support our students and make sure they know about all the options open to them. Our curriculum focusses on careers, and we provide our students with meaningful career-related opportunities and activities throughout their time with us.
Longdon Park School is committed to providing our young people with a programme of careers education, information, advice and guidance from year 7 onwards. Discovery and experiential education around jobs and employment form part of lessons within the primary setting and a whole school approach is adopted as well as the use of national awareness days for increasing self-efficacy and prospects of all young people in our care.
Our Careers Leader is Emma Barton If you have any questions about careers, higher education, work experience, or if you would like more information about our careers programme, please contact 01283 733 195.
